About
Built by people who play it.
Tactics11 has been running for years under other names and the reason it exists has not changed once in that time.
Why it exists
One question, asked on somebody else's forum
“Do the developers of this game even play it, or are they just there for the money?”
That question is the whole brief. Every football management game eventually accumulates a layer of decisions nobody who plays it would have made - a transfer market that clears instantly, a match engine that cannot explain itself, a lower division that exists only to be escaped.
The people building this one are also managing a club in it, and the rule is simply that nothing ships that we would complain about as players. That is not a slogan; it is the reason a losing bidder in an auction is told why the player chose somewhere else, and the reason the ninth division has its own team of the week.
The job
What a manager actually does here
Every item below is a screen you can act on. It is a list of what exists, not a list of what we would like to exist.
- 01
Selecting the team
The eleven, the nine substitutes, and the shape they play in. A player out of position is rated for the job he was given, not the one he is good at.
- 02
Planning the strategy
Mentality, pressing line, tackling and which flank to attack down - set before kick-off and changed while the match is running.
- 03
Training
An intensity for the squad and a programme per player. Progress accumulates toward a rating point rather than being rolled for each week, so it is something you plan a season around.
- 04
Careers, not stat lines
One universe of footballers, shared by every world. They grow toward a ceiling, decline past twenty-seven, retire between thirty-five and forty-two, and a new cohort of sixteen to twenty-two year olds arrives every year.
- 05
The transfer market
Bidding, negotiating wages, selling high, and the Papal Auction, where a handful of exceptional players sign for one month only and choose their own club rather than going to the highest bid.
- 06
The accounts
Wages, gate receipts, sponsorship and the central distribution, judged against a board that will impose an embargo and then deduct points.
- 07
The board and the fans
Objectives set at the start of the season, confidence that moves with results, and a sack that ends the career rather than restarting it.
- 08
The press and the inbox
Transfer sagas, media grilling, post-match fallout and direct club notices - a complete breakdown of the football world delivered straight to your desk.
- 09
Beyond the league
Domestic titles are only the start. Fight through cups and leagues, test squad depth in pre-season friendlies, or challenge any manager head-to-head.
Free to play, for ever. It is paid for by one advertising slot and by the managers who take Annual Membership - never by anything that reaches the pitch.
